The lake has a round shape and was formed following a landslide of the hill of Ville del Monte.
Worth seeing in Canale di Tenno is certainly its very particular centre. In reality, the whole village can be considered an attraction itself!
Borgo Medievale di Canale
La Casa degli Artisti was born in the sixties thanks to the painter Giacomo Vittone. Between the sixties and seventies it had been a reference point for local artistic circles and artists, but only from the mid-eighties did it begin to implement a series of initiatives that have made it a cultural place known throughout Italy and Europe.
Farm Tools Museum
A stone's throw from the Casa degli Artisti is the Museum of Agricultural Tools, housed in the "Aldo Gorfer" Center.
From Tenno we go to the beautiful Borgo Canale and from there with path 406 we go up towards the San Pietro refuge, at the crossroads we take path 412 which after a while turns left and begins to climb steeply for a good hour.
Beautiful ride from Canale up to Monte Misone.
The path from Malga Fiavè down to Passo Ballino is very steep in some places, difficult in rainy conditions.
Not far from Ville del Monte is Lake Garda.
The historic center with the Rocca (the museum), the Apponale Tower
A few kilometers from Canale di Tenno there are also the Varone waterfalls, which fall within the territory of the municipality of Tenno. They are a breathtaking natural wonder with their height of 100 meters and can be visited. Having done it, I assure you that it is a magnificent experience!
Internationally renowned as a tourist and climatic center overlooking Lake Garda, this town was already an important commercial destination in Roman times. It became part of the Kingdom of Italy in 1919 after the end of World War I.
Places to visit include the historic center with the Rocca and museum, the Apponale Tower, the Baroque Church of Maria Inviolata, the Venetian Bastion (which can also be reached by panoramic elevator), and the Ponale Trail.
From the port (Piazza Catena) it's possible to take a nice boat tour to Torbole, Limone, Malcesine, Salo, Bardolino, and Sirmione.
